My name is Dakota Mitchell. I am the founder, and the primary visionary/creator for the designs of Campeche Collective and Sunken Cannon Brewery. I opened the online shop in 2016 to support my brewing habit and serve as a creative outlet for my art. With humble beginnings, my designs began to gain steam and the store has grown substantially. This store was originally created as a creative outlet for myself , and I hope you enjoy it too!

Many don't know the reasoning behind our brand name, Campeche. Well, because of Jimmy Buffett, I grew up captivated by pirates (like many others). Being from Texas, Jean Lafitte was an exciting character in history for me. Lafitte named his Galveston Island outpost "Campeche", hence our name. When thinking of a logo, I felt traditional skull and crossbones were played out, so I wanted something different. Insert Jimmy Buffett again: I decided to draw a simple parrot skull with a "CC" blended in for Campeche Collective. As a fellow parrothead, this felt perfect. I admit it is maybe not the easiest name, but it fit me 🤣 Needless to say, Jimmy has inspired me and this brand immensely, and I was devastated hearing the news this weekend. In honor of the captain, we are donating 50% of the profits from all our Buffett-inspired designs to the melanoma research alliance.
