About

Small Business. Big Designs.

Campeche Collective gets its name from Jean Lafitte's Galveston Island outpost in the early 1800's. Jean Lafitte, a notorious privateer, was known as sort of a "robinhood" figure for his adopted hometown of New Orleans, until being kicked out by the government. He regrouped at Campeche on Galveston Island, returning to New Orleans only after becoming a key cog in the United States' victory at the Battle of New Orleans during the War of 1812. During the Mexican War of Independence, Lafitte established Galveston Island as a smuggling base, effectively putting it on the map. At Campeche Collective, we are proud of our Texas roots, and that is evident in many of our designs.

My name is Dakota Mitchell. I am the founder, and the primary visionary/creator for the designs of Campeche Collective and Sunken Cannon Brewery. I opened the online shop in 2017 to support my brewing habit and serve as a creative outlet for my art. With humble beginnings, my designs began to gain steam and the store has grown substantially. This store was created primarily as a creative outlet for myself and I hope you enjoy it too!

I started the brewery as a home brewery in 2010 and have been growing it ever since, with an eye towards opening a brick and mortar brewery in the near future in south central Texas.

Thank you for supporting small business and helping me achieve my dreams.

Much love,

Dakota
