Pūcīhkit T-shirt
Pūcīhkit is the name for Green Bay in Menominee traditions. They say that they have occupied Wisconsin and Green Bay “from the beginning of time.” Although much Menominee land was forcibly ceded early in the 19th century, the tribe resisted the government’s efforts to remove them to Minnesota, even visiting Washington, D.C., at one point to petition President Millard Fillmore for redress. Finally, in the Treaty of 1854, the Menominee received more than a quarter million acres of heavily forested land to serve as their permanent home. Celebrate Green Bay's native history with this unique design.
